Commercial signage & environmental design

From concept to compliant, installed signage, we design commercial signage and environmental graphics that help people move through your space with confidence. Let's talk about your project.

Commercial Signage & Environmental Design

Wayfinding, signage and environmental design should feel intuitive before it feels noticed. AVGD is a full-service commercial signage partner, handling design, permits, project management and installation under one roof, so you deal with a single team from concept through to a finished, compliant sign on the wall.

Most design studios hand your project to a fabricator and step back. We don't. AVGD manages the whole signage journey: concept and brand application, permit applications and council approvals, production and project management, and installation and site coordination.

Street scene showing a billboard with the quote 'She turns up the wick of her personality. Night arrives in style.' by Miriam Webster. Blurry red and white cars are moving in the foreground, and there are vintage style buildings along the street in the background, with signage including 'Hotel', 'Railway Hotel', and street signs for Nicholson St and Park St. The sky is overcast.

What we handle, start to finish

  • Design: commercial signage design, wayfinding systems, branded environments, campus and facility signage, directional signage, window and vinyl graphics, exhibition and event signage, spatial branding, hoarding and construction signage, vehicle graphics, internal communication signage.

Permits & approvals: permit applications and council/planning approvals, so your signage is compliant before it goes up.

Project management: we run the project end to end, coordinating fabrication, trades and timelines so you have one point of contact, not three.

Installation: on-site installation and sign-off, including multi-site rollouts and signage masterplanning for campuses, clinics and retail networks.

Who it's for

Universities, healthcare and childcare providers, workplaces, retail and commercial developments that want one partner to take a signage project from concept to installed, compliant and finished, rather than juggling a designer, a permit consultant, a fabricator and an installer separately.

A crowd of people is standing at the intersection on a city street. There are billboards and signs on buildings, including an outdoor billboard for SolWorks and a smaller sign for Total Rush cycling store. Cars are seen on the road and streetlights are present. North Star Early Education: Signage and wayfinding.

A brand brought to life at full scale across newly built childcare centres: illuminated street-facing façade signage, internal wayfinding, a reception "brand moment," and a recurring icon used across communal walls to tie every centre back to the same identity system.

AVGD works with you

One partner, start to finish: design, permits, project management and installation are all handled directly by AVGD, so nothing falls through the cracks between suppliers.

Brand-led, not just signage: we design environmental graphics as an extension of your brand identity, not a bolt-on.

Compliance handled: permit applications and council approvals are managed as part of the project, not left for you to sort out separately.

Wayfinding vs. signage, done properly: wayfinding focuses on navigation and directional communication; commercial signage covers the broader brand, environmental and communication applications across a space. We design and deliver both.

The process isn’t always linear – but it starts and ends the same way.

Here's how we take your annual report from first conversation to final files:
